In this training program, content creators from around the world can learn to write and pitch original unscripted TV formats.
They study every aspect of format creation including ideation, loglines, synopsis, format points, episode breakdowns, bibles, leave-behinds, trends, analyses, and packaging.
They learn how broadcasters work, how TV shows are sold, and how TV formats travel.
They pitch the formats that they develop over the course of the incubator to an international jury that consists of decision makers from various broadcasters and distributors.
The author of the winning pitch gets a prize fund for the production of a proof of concept of their format.
In the past editions of the incubator, the jury consisted of decision makers from Lithuanian National Radio and Television LRT, Latvian National Television LTV, Estonian Public Broadcasting ERR, Go3, and GRB Media Ranch.
In 2024, the winner of International TV Formats Incubator was the Lithuanian producer ValdonÄ— OvadnevienÄ—. 24-Hour Challenge, the survival reality show that she developed at the Incubator, was subsequently picked up by Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT). Read about it in the press or watch it on the LRT’s VOD platform.
